How a Laptop Changed Everything

Updated: Sep 15, 2025

Neat Number Fact: Week 16 of this year started on April 16th, while week 20 ends on May 20th. So that means the following week, week 21, starts on the 21st. Also, the 26th week has June 26th, but it’s not as cool.

The New Laptop: It’s not so new anymore. It’s been a couple of years, and a lot has changed since my last blog post, so there’s much to discuss. One significant development is that I registered this website earlier this year, a decision that likely wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t received this laptop as a gift at the end of 2021. This laptop has opened up numerous opportunities for me, and I often contemplate how different my life would be if I were still using my older one.

In the past, the streaming quality was noticeably lower, with resolutions that were pixelated and far from optimal, similar to the quality of my Grand Theft Auto III playthrough on the channel. Back then, my videos mostly consisted of games captured with Dazzle, as well as videos of emulated PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64 games. It’s difficult to imagine how these would have compared to the Banjo-Kazooie mods I live streamed last year, where I showcased a different one almost every month.

Looking back, I believe that whatever I’m doing now is better to what I would have accomplished without the new laptop. I’m grateful for this turn of events and extremely glad that I didn’t decide to halt my YouTube uploads.

Going Into 2022: Reflecting on my channel’s progress, I felt a sense of pride in what I had achieved, even though the numbers were not as high as I had initially hoped. I had a strong desire to take my channel to the next level, utilizing all the resources available to me. That’s when I made the decision to create more Banjo-Shorties for my viewers, a Banjo-Kazooie machinima series. While Breegull Mail had its charm, I believed that a completely humorous story with more depth and intrigue would be more captivating.

To kickstart this endeavor, I began by crafting a summary of the story, brainstorming various possible storylines and events that could unfold. I aimed to seamlessly integrate this new narrative into my past videos and overarching storyline. As a result, the first episode, Thunderstruck, took the form of a prequel, setting the stage for the exciting tale that would unfold.

Week 19 of 2023: I recently uploaded the second episode of the Banjo-Shorties reboot, titled Jinjobear, after a considerable amount of time and effort. There were several factors that contributed to the delay. Firstly, while the performance of the first video on my channel was decent, it didn’t achieve a level of success that warranted that amount of work. Considering this, it didn’t seem practical to work on a Banjo-Shorties everyday, especially with other commitments in my life. I initially aimed for a weekly release schedule, but the production of the first episode Thunderstruck took longer than anticipated, extending beyond a week. I then adjusted my plan to release subsequent episodes on a monthly basis, but unfortunately, I encountered further delays. However, I managed to successfully upload the episode in May, ensuring it was the best it could be, and I’m genuinely proud of the outcome.

Week 20 and Onward: In terms of my online videos, I anticipate that the next episode of Banjo-Shorties will likely be released in the last quarter of this year. In the meantime, I’ll be working on it intermittently, but it’s not my top priority at the moment. While the videos are receiving a good response, they haven’t gained significant traction, so I hope others can appreciate this decision I made regarding the work time and schedule. In the meantime, I’d like to shift my focus towards creating other videos that are quicker to develop, and I’ll be sharing more information about these new videos in the near future. For now, I’ll continue live streaming, and I look forward to connecting with you all again soon!
